Cagliari’s beaches

The sea

Turquoise and transparent waters, sandy beaches, rocky coves, sunken environments rich in life, the coasts of Sardinia offer for good part of the year a destination of pure pleasure even to the most demanding tourist.
Those who stay in Cagliari can not fail to visit the beach Poetto, well connected to the city center by public Transport and full of services along all its 8 km of coastline. In addition to the summer use, typical of the  bathing sites, in winter it is frequented by numerous  athletes of various disciplines, from those strictly linked to the sea like sailing, windsurfing and kitesurfing, to runners, skaters, volleyball and cyclists.
Numerous kiosks also offer rigorous shade, breakfasts, lunches, aperitifs, and in the evening dinners with live music, to allow anyone to experience the sea at their best at any time of the day.
On the east coast about 40 km away from the city, it is also possible by public transport to reach the beaches of Villasimius or stop in one of the many locations along the SP17, called Panoramica for the glimpses of immense beauty that offers along the way.
Another unmissable destination is the beach of Chia, in the south-western part of the Gulf of Cagliari, with its dune fields of fine and golden sand colonized by secular junipers, a destination for years of surfers from all over Europe.
